Outrage Upon Outrage

By John Feakes

Last week at work I happened upon the July 2008 edition of National Geographic magazine.  The feature story described the cold-hearted killing of seven mountain gorillas by unknown madmen. The article went into gruesome detail about how several of the gorillas were shot “execution style” in the back of the head, and how an infant gorilla was found clinging to its dead mother’s breast. A giant silverback male was found shot through the chest. I love animals, and my favorite animal of all is the mountain gorilla. Beautiful, powerful and intelligent, these are without a doubt some of God’s most magnificent creatures. The senseless killing of these animals is indeed an outrage. The National Geographic magazine and others holding to the same ideological views however, is also guilty of what I consider an even greater outrage.

The magazine dubs the killing of these gorillas as “murder.” According to the dictionary, murder is defined as the unlawful killing of a person. Are we to regard gorillas as people? If so, then why not dogs, cats and mice? Who gets to decide which animal may or may not be regarded as a person? Some may see this as “splitting hairs” but I don’t think so. Words have meanings. If murder is the unlawful killing of a person, and the gorillas in the story were murdered, then it follows logically that they were in fact people.

But wait a minute. Here in the western world we have seen the abortion of over 40 million unborn human babies. Why doesn’t the National Geographic express equal outrage? Because, though these babies were undeniably human, according to many in the evolutionist camp, they ought not to be regarded as persons. Is anybody else uncomfortable with this nonsense? Who decided that unborn babies are not really people? Why did they make such a decision, based on what criteria? Who else should be dubbed a “non-person?”

The Evolution Connection
Of course, it’s the acceptance of the evolution myth as fact that spawned this awful confusion over who or what is to be regarded as a person. The testimony of history is unambiguous. The nature myth known as the theory of evolution has caused immeasurable bigotry, pain, suffering, and loss of life. Charles Darwin, the most famous High Priest of evolution stated:

“At some future period, not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilized races of man will almost certainly exterminate and replace, the savage races throughout the world.”
Charles Darwin, The Descent of Man, chapter 3 and World Book Encyclopedia 1952, p. 336

Ernst Haeckel was completely consistent with his belief in the evolution story when he stated:

“The mental life of savages rises little above that of the higher mammals, especially the apes, with which they are genealogically connected. . . . Their intelligence moves within the narrowest bounds, and one can no more (or no less) speak of their reason than of that of the more intelligent animals. . . . These lower races (such as the Veddahs or Australian negroes) are psychologically nearer to the mammals (apes or dogs) than to civilized Europeans; we must, therefore, assign a totally different value to their lives.”  Ernst Haeckel, The Wonders of Life (New York: Harper, 1904), 56-57.

Henry Fairfield Osborn, the outspoken evolutionist and Curator of The American Museum of Natural History in New York stated:

“The Negroid stock is even more ancient than the Caucasian and Mongolians, as may be proved by an examination not only of the brain, of the hair, of the bodily characteristics . . . but of the instincts, the intelligence. The standard of intelligence of the average adult Negro is similar to that of the eleven-year-old-youth of the species Homo Sapiens.”Henry Fairfield Osborn, "The Evolution of Human Races," Natural History, April 1980, p. 129--reprinted from January/February 1926 issue.

Martin Brookes wrote concerning the obvious connection between belief in the evolution story and the extermination of the supposed “lower” races. Brookes wrote:

“A direct line runs from Darwin, through the father of the eugenics movement- Darwin’s cousin, Francis Galton- to the extermination camps of Nazi Europe.”
Martin Brookes, ‘Ripe old age’, New Scientist 161(2171);41, 1999

God Help Us

The darkness created by the acceptance of the evolution story is indeed deepening. Thank God almighty for His light-giving word, which alone guarantees the superiority and equality of human beings above all the animal kingdom:

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. ” Gen 1:26-27

Further, God’s word guarantees the equality of all mankind:

“[God] hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; Acts 17:26
