Welcome to the CARE website kid’s stuff section!

The Bible is a whole library of books written over a long time (about 1600 years) all put together in one big volume.  Most importantly, the Bible claims to be a message from God to all of us. So how did God write the Bible? He used people to do it – about 40 of them. God somehow moved these people to write what He wanted written.

What DOES it say? The Bible teaches that God created the whole universe about 6,000 years ago. It was very good back then. There was no sickness. There was no death. Then something terrible happened. The first two people that God created (Adam and Eve) disobeyed God (sinned).  That sin brought a terrible punishment. It brought sickness and death into the world. It also brought the punishment of separation from God AFTER death FOREVER.

It gets WORSE! We are all sinners, just like Adam and Eve. We all have a terrible punishment coming. IS THERE ANY SOLUTION? YES!

The Bible says that Jesus, the Son of God, came to the earth as a man about 2,000 years ago. He was perfect. He never sinned at all. And yet God punished Him as though He was the worst sinner!

WHY?

Jesus was punished for OUR sins. Today he asks everyone to ACCEPT what Jesus has done for them and to ASK God to forgive them for their sins. God promises that if we do these things, God WILL FORGIVE us. We can have a right RELATIONSHIP with God now and FOREVER!

Now we come to an all-important question:

WHY should we believe this story?

Answering that question is what CARE Winnipeg is all about. All the lessons in this section are meant to show families that the Bible can (and should!) be trusted.
