Our Museum has Moved!

By John Feakes

In case you didn't know, our "Christian Evidences Museum" (for lack of a better name) has been housed in my basement rec-room for the past several years [up until summer '07]. During that time we've hosted many tours including homeschoolers, youth groups, Bible study groups, and families interested in seeing some of the evidence for themselves.

My family and I have had a lot of fun sharing with folks what we believe to be absolutely astounding verification of the Bible's historic claims, particularly its claims regarding special creation in the relatively recent past ( < 10,000 years ago ) and a global deluge some 4,500 years ago. Over the years we've continued to acquire fascinating artifacts and fossils, and construct displays. The trouble of course, is that basement rec-rooms don't normally grow in response to an increase in the stuff they contain (guess they haven't evolved that ability yet!). In other words, it's getting a little tight around here!

Here's where the Oxford Bible Church comes in. This body of believers is absolutely amazing. These guys are real Christians, and Oxford is a genuine New Testament Church. Since my family started attending services there over a year ago this body of believers has had its arms open wide for us. At last we are a part of a sincere church family whose focus is entirely on Christ almighty and his precious word.

Several months ago we consulted the elders of the church about our plans to start a kids' club and were given every blessing. When I asked about putting our artifacts on display in the church building I couldn't believe the response. Immediately the elders recognized the importance of our ministry and a portion of the building was set aside for our museum.

The kids' club we've dubbed "The Dinosaur Discovery Zone" and will meet every Thursday from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Along with the singing, games and crafts, there will be a creation science lesson along with a spiritual message. Our intent is to let the kids know what the Bible says, and to give them plenty of good reasons to believe it.

The Oxford Bible Church is located at 621 Oxford St. For more information please call John or Linde Feakes at (204) 667-6548 (Cell: 299-7883) or e-mail.
