Metoposaur Skull

On the right is the skull of the largest known salamander alive today. To the left, the metoposaur skull, said to be millions of years old. Something was obviously different in the past. The metoposaur lived before the flood, when the environment was much more hospitable (not millions of years ago, by the way).

Giant Salamander

The Metoposaur, a giant salamander. In the past salamanders grew to 12 feet in length. The Bible states that there used to be an extra layer in our atmosphere, which would have increased atmospheric pressure. The Bible predicts, therefore, that animals that breathe through their skin, like salamanders, could have grown to enormous sizes.

Bat Fossil

The Oldest Bat Fossil in the World

Our fossil cast is said to date from the Eocene Epoch, some 15 million years ago. Notice that it is fully modern in appearance which means that the fossil record shows no evolutionary history for the bat's amazing anatomical structure. To the right of our fossil bat is a copy of a recent Discover Magazine which featured an article on the amazing abilities of bats. According to the article the US government is spending millions of dollars trying to create a flying machine that can move the way a bat can. So far the greatest minds in aeronautical engineering haven't come anywhere close. The fact that the bat's design has these great minds stumped, along the fact that the fossils reveal no evolutionary history for the bat's design, can only support the creation worldview.

Dog Kind

Variation within the Dog Kind

Oftentimes evolutionists will misrepresent the creationist position by claiming that the Bible teaches God programmed animals to reproduce after their kinds with no variety whatever. This claim is false. According to Acts 17, God programmed our first human parents with enough genetic information to account for the variety in human beings we see today. God is interested in individuals, not duplicates!

Within the dog kind we see the same kind of unfolding of genetic potential. The first generation of dogs had medium length fur, but contained the information to produce a variety of puppies. Nature will select the most fit for survival, who will then pass their information on to the next generation. Notice that there is only a shuffling around and an editing of existing genetic information. Evolution requires brand new information be created, which is something that we've never observed.

Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon: Monument to the Flood

Our scale model of the canyon includes all 5000+ feet of strata, from the Vishnu Schist of the granite gorge at the bottom of the canyon to the Kaibab limestone at the canyon's rim. The question needs to be asked: What could have laid down these remarkably pure, flat layers, over such a broad area?

A Secular Explanation

A Secular Explanation

This is the typical explanation for how the canyon's layered were formed.

How reasonable is this explanation? How likely is it that 1000's of square miles of rock could be moved above and below sea level multiple times over without obvious warping, twisting, erosion or fracture?

The creation/flood view makes much more sense. On this view, most of the world's horizontal strata were formed by liquefaction, the process by which water sorts sediments based on size and density.

Cocconino Sandstone

The Cocconino Sandstone

A 400 ft thick, crossbedded sandstone situated near the rim of the Canyon. Notice the person at the bottom right of the picture for scale.

The Creation position has been challenged by the evolutionist community by positing that the Cocconino is actually the fossil remains of a dry sand dune. On this view, the Cocconino represents a desert environment that existed in the Colorado Plateau region millions of years ago. The creationist on the other hand believes that this layer was laid down by water during the year long flood of Noah's day. Which view is correct?

Amphibian Tracks

Amphibian Tracks in the Cocconino Sandstone

The claim that the Cocconino represents the remains of a dry, desert environment is contradicted by the presence of amphibian tracks found within that layer. Notice the detailed claw marks that have been preserved. How could such fine detail have been preserved in a dry dune? It appears as though the Cocconino was laid down by water fairly quickly. Some of the amphibian trails continue in one direction while the toes on the individual track point in another. These trails suddenly end, only to pick up again many feet away. The obvious conclusion to be drawn would be that the little animal was fighting against a current, which finally scooped him up and deposited him downstream.

The Saber Toothed Tiger

The fangs on this beast certainly make it look ferocious, and after sin and death entered the world it doubtless became a flesh eater. But what about it's behavior before the fall?

Chinese Water Deer

The Chinese Water Deer

Beside our saber toothed Tiger skull we have placed the skull of the Chinese water deer for comparison. This deer lives today and as you can see, also sports a pair of huge fangs, yet this creature is completely herbivorous. This is just another example of how impossible it is to tell what an animal's diet was or is by looking at its teeth alone. Other examples of vegetarian creatures with carnivorous-looking teeth are the fruit bat and the panda bear. Yes, even a dinosaur with sharp teeth like the Albertosaurus was once a peaceful vegetarian!

The Neck of the Giraffe

In order to get blood up into its head - some 17 feet in the air - the giraffe has been equipped with a powerful heart which measures more than 2 feet in length. This poses an interesting problem for the giraffe when he lowers his to get a drink. The pressure from that heart pushing blood "downhill" ought to rupture his brain.

Giraffe
Giraffe

To prevent this from happening, God has equipped the giraffe with a complex series of valves which run down its neck. As the giraffe lowers its neck to get a drink, these valves close, cutting off blood from the heart. When the giraffe hears the lion approaching he must raise his head 17 feet into the air in a split second and start running. How is this possible when the blood supply from the heart has been cut off? God has than one covered too.

Giraffe
Giraffe

In His wisdom the Creator has given the giraffe a complex "mesh" of blood vessels - something like a sponge - around its brain which catches the last pump of blood before the valves close. In this way the brain is kept oxygenated while blood from the heart has stopped. How in the world can anyone believe that these incredible, interdependent components just "evolved" in step-by-step process over endless ages of time? The evidence points to the the giraffe as being specially created; a colossal object lesson for skeptics to ponder!
